Travis Mitchell (far, back) assisting users with experiment

Our second recipient of the GSRAC award for 2017 is Travis Mitchell, from University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.  Travis was the very first recipient of the GSRAC award when ChemMatCARS launched the program in 2015.  During his his four-week stay in the summer, Travis had the opportunity to conduct his own crystallography research as well as assist other user visiting ChemMatCARS for beamtime.  He was also helped ChemMatCARS host various tours at sector 15 for various visitors and institutions.  Travis was led in by Yu-Sheng Chen and Suyin Grass during his time at sector 15.  GSRAC program allowed Travis to continue to grow as a crystallographer and pass on the knowledge he’s acquired from visiting our beamline.
