University of Chicago graduate student Greg Tietjen

Greg Tietjen, a graduate student at the University of Chicago jointly mentored by Prof. Erin Adams and Prof. Ka Yee Lee, has been awarded a scholarship from the Chicago Biomedical Consortium (CBC) as part of their CBC Scholars Program (https://www.chicagobiomedicalconsortium.org/awards/scholars_program/ and http://www.chicagobiomedicalconsortium.org/awards/scholars_program/meet-the-scholars-gregory-tietjen/). The award was in recognition of Greg’s PhD work on understanding the molecular basis of lipid membrane recognition in immune response. An integral part of this research involved Liquid Surface scattering completed at ChemMatCars.  Greg credits much of this success to the help and guidance he received while working at Sector 15; “There is simply no way I could have received this honor without the patient help of everyone at ChemMatCars, particularly Binhua and Mati.”
