A new book, titled “Liquid Surfaces and Interfaces: Synchrotron X-ray Methods” will become available soon. The book, which should meet and existing need for a source of information about liquid surface theory and techniques, is partially based on work done at ChemMatCARS.
It has been a fond wish, often expressed by members of the liquid surface community, to have a single source containing all or most of the practical information required in studies of liquid surfaces. Well, the wish is about to come true. A new book, titled “Liquid Surfaces and Interfaces: Synchrotron X-ray Methods” will become available on Aug. 31st, 2012. The book, by Prof. Peter Pershan from Harvard and Prof. Mark Schlossman from UIC, contains an exposition of experimental techniques and theoretical data reduction methods relevant to liquid surface studies. Many of the techniques described there were originated by the authors themselves, while working at the liquid surface scattering facility of ChemMatCARS.
